Skill Second to Vision: Introduction to Glassblowing

During this class, students will create glorious sculptures using only the most basic hot shop skills. The first half of this introductory glassblowing class will provide students with a solid foundation on which to build their skills. We will begin with necessary techniques like gathering, making jack lines, and blowing bubbles. In the second half of this class students are urged to express themselves and experiment with the medium. They will learn about basic sculpting principals and how to apply bits. Students will be encouraged to utilize their unique abilities as beginners to create unusual and enchanting forms.   

No class on May 10th.
