Playing with Pictures: Engraving Imagery on Glass

Pavlína Čambalová

The traditional technique of wheel engraving takes many years to fully master, but that is not always necessary to use this dynamic craft tradition. Students in this workshop will use engraving in playful, experimental ways, as an instrument to express their feelings and creative ideas. Students will work with various materials including float glass, blown pieces, and fused glass, and learn to use equipment including the lathe, engraving lathe, and foredoms. The motifs will be different, depending on each student´s nature. Both beginners and advanced students are welcome to have fun playing with turning wheels.
