It’s Always Sunny in the Neon Studio

Emily Craddock

Do you find yourself drawn to neon signs? Are you an artist looking to bring a new luminescent element to your work? The brightness, colors, and seemingly endless possibilities of linear design make neon lighting one of the most alluring mediums. Whether you are a total novice or at the beginner level, this class will either kickstart your skills to bend and weld your own one-of-a-kind neon sign, or provide you with more detailed insight to execute your ideas to their maximum potential.  This 6-week course will utilize soft glass tubing to cover fundamentals of bending, welding, and pattern design.  Students will also see the process of attaching electrodes, as well as filling a tube with one of the many inert gases.
