Amber Cowan graduated in 2004 from Salisbury University, Salisbury, MD, with a BFA in 3-Dimensional Design and a concentration in Hot Glass. Since her graduation she has taken classes at The Pittsburgh Glass Center, The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass and Tecnolux. She now lives in Brooklyn and has been the flameworking instructor at UrbanGlass since 2006 where she has had the opportunity to TA for many amazing artists. She also teaches regularly as a glassblowing instructor at One Sixty Glass and is a producer and designer for Nathan Tim. Amber has been a glass instructor for The Boys and Girls Club of Brooklyn at UrbanGlass and a regular instructor for The Bead Project. In the summer of 2008, she will travel to St. John, US Virgin Islands, to be a resident at Maho Bay’s recycled glass program.
