Production Services: Design, typesetting and production services are available at additional cost. The ad rates are for B&W or color ads formatted as outlined below. Any production work or conversions required will be billed to the advertiser.
File Formats: We will accept most file formats for Mac & Windows platforms. In cases where files are supplied in non-standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Publisher etc, there will be an additional cost incurred. When native page layout documents are supplied (i.e. Quark, Pagemaker, InDesign), all support files must also be supplied (fonts, logos, pictures etc.).
Ads may be submitted on CD or DVD. Ads must be accompanied by a color proof. All support files should be saved in CMYK color space. All RGB files will be converted at Sundog to CMYK (proofs made from RGB files will not match) Please send a print window or a disk menu with all files.
IF YOU DO NOT SEND A SWOP CALIBRATED DIGITAL PROOF, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR AN EXACT COLOR MATCH. LASER PRINTOUTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Sundog accepts Creoscitex CT/LW which must include three files: final page (FP), continuous tone (CT) and linework (LW). The CT should comply with SWOP standards between 200 & 400 dpi. Is recommended the total density should not exceed 310% @ 300 dpi.
Sundog also accepts high resolution PDF files saved as "press optimized", ensuring fonts are "embedded" with either 2540 or 2400 dpi resolution. Compression must be turned off. A ‘joboptions' file for creating press ready PDF's is available on request. Ensure all PDF's have bleed and are in CMYK Format.
File Standards:
The standard for Photoshop support files are:
- 300 DPI @ 100%
- CMYK mode
- Maximum black of 85 with a Dmax of 310 for 175 LPI output - UCR
High-lights of 2% Yellow - 2% Magenta - 3% Cyan
- Saved as either "EPS" or ".tiff"
