Learning at UrbanGlass takes many forms. Educational programming includes weekly classes, week-long intensives and two-day workshops in which students explore glassmaking techniques with acknowledged masters and acclaimed visiting artists/instructors. Whether a novice or a professional artist, we have the classes you need.
UrbanGlass students have access to some of the finest glassworkers in the world, year-round. This is because UrbanGlass is not just a school but a working artist studio where professional artists come to make their work and their living. Nowhere else will you find students working side-by-side with professional artists creating their work, in the heart of the art capital of the world - New York City.
While our studio in Downtown Brooklyn undergoes a complete renovation in 2012, we are not able to offer glassblowing and neon lessons. However, our interim studio on 13th Street can accomadate flameworking, coldworking, fusing, and kilncasting.
