Famed Architect Donates Proceeds to UrbanGlass

Tequila Don Julio Introduces the Architecture of the Perfect Sip. Jeffrey Beers, an esteemed member of the UrbanGlass' Board of Directors and world-renowned architect has been commissioned by Tequila Don Julio, the world’s first ultra-premium tequila, to design a fine crystal tequila snifter glass exclusively for Don Julio Real. Beers, of Jeffrey Beers International, is a noted architect and passionate glass blower who studied with Dale Chihuly and is a former protégé of I.M. Pei. Today, Beers is best known for creating award-winning luxury restaurants, clubs, hotels and resorts worldwide. Every snifter is individually mouth blown and hand cut to precision by Czech glass masters using fine European crystal and reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into each perfect drop of Don Julio.

UrbanGlass 2007-8 Visiting Artist Fellows selected
UrbanGlass is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2007-8 Visiting Artist Fellowships: Emerging Artists Sam McMillen and Erika Tada and Established Artist Jaffa Laam Lam.

Fellowships are for an eight week period and include access to all areas of the Studio on a scheduled basis, technical support and materials as stipulated in the Fellowship Agreement. The Emerging Artist Fellowship is designed to provide recent graduates with a bridge between the academic and professional world. The Established Artist Fellowship is offered to working artists with established careers. Both fellowships afford artists the opportunity to develop a new body of work and explore new techniques. Artists are chosen on the basis of past work and plans for utilizing UrbanGlass facilities.
